When my partner and I moved to Suffolk to start our new life together nearly six years ago, we didn't intend to leave it so long before we tied the knot!
Despite setting the date twice before in the last three years, life had other plans for us, but finally we found the perfect time to gather our children, their partners and the little granddaughter around us to say 'I will' in the lovely Norman church just at the bottom of the hill.
And it was a perfectly magical and very special day!

Congratulations! You are a lovely looking couple and your dress is just beautiful. Much happiness to you both.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I said we were stopping off at Weddings and here we are!

We were lucky to find all the right ingredients. The flowers rather stole the show and the lady who did them for me also helped to choose my make-up, found me a hairdresser and a photographer, all at very short notice. Thank you for the kind wishes Poppy.
DeleteOh how lovely! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was! Thank you.

DeleteWhat a beautiful day. Very best wishes. I have been with my.partner for four years and living together on our little farm for three. We are planning for someday too. Thanks for sharing your special day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Aisling. Once you are settled in a relationship, it takes real focus to actually put together a wedding, as life just trundles on. I'm so glad we did it though and I think it was the perfect time. Hope you do too.
DeleteHow lovely! Congratulations from me too. Marianne, you look stunning. May every day be special xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly. If I could have such a perfect wedding again, I would love to do it more often - to the same person of course x
DeleteCongratulations, Marianne! You looked stunning and your flowers were so pretty. (I have been popping here regularly in eagerness to see the photographs and was not disappointed). Wishing you much happiness for the future.
ReplyDeleteI am never sure about posting personal photos on my blog but on this occasion decided it was worth it. I loved my flowers so much! The colours I chose worked beautifully and the florist (a lovely lady in the next village) arranged them so well. She also helped me choose my make-up and found me a photographer and a hairdresser all with only days to go!
DeleteThank you for the kind wishes.
Many congratulations, Marianne it looks like you had a perfect day, your bouquet and dress are lovely and you both look so happy:)

ReplyDeleteThat's kind Linda - still glowing and trying to hold onto it all despite everyday life intervening!
DeleteI'm so delighted for you, Marianne - no, for you both! You look beautiful and happy in your elegant dress, and the wedding has such a radiant glow to it, most particularly in your son's look of pride.
ReplyDeleteThree weeks ago now and I want to do it all over again - it was so special. Thank you for dropping by!
DeleteSo good to have come across your blog (I was searching for bloggers who like the music of The Sixteen). I loved Suffolk as a child. You invoke good memories. Joy to you.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you and thank for the comment. Not a music blog I'm afraid, just bits and pieces, but I do LOVE The Sixteen and saw them perform at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury a couple of years ago. They are miraculous! Glad to invoke good memories for you - Suffolk is still delightful and a bit of a time warp.
DeleteMany thanks for this. You might be interested to read a short story of mine on my Fiction Writing blog (in year 2011) entitled 'The Beachcomber'. It's about Dunwich and was inspired by my own childhood experiences.
DeleteI am very late, but many congratulations to you Marianne and the Man in the Pink Shirt - you look very happy. So glad you posted those pictures.
ReplyDeleteLovely that you came by Lucille and thank you for the good wishes - never too late! And he is still wearing a pink shirt too, very appropriate!
DeleteHow very lovely! Congratulations to you both. It sounds like a perfect and happy day. I wish you many more happy days together.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth. It was. I think you are probably the only person I am still in contact with from my early days of blogging, so it's lovely that you are here for the denouement!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your marriage, I hope that many happy years lie ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rowan - and thanks too for coming by.
DeleteOh, Marianne, those flowers! I hope your day, and the years to come, was and will be just as lovely for you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely thoughts and thank you so much Rachel!
