Marianne, orange blossom flowers really are heavenly, aren't they?
I wanted to let you know that I did follow up with a visit to my fabulous library's children's dept and have checked out The Children of Green Knowe. The library's adult stacks also hold lots of Lucy Boston's non-fiction, too, so I will have fun getting caught up with this author introduced to me by you. You'd most likely love this subscription library, The New York Society Library. wwwnysoclib.org
That's nice Frances - so pleased you are interested, and maybe your next trip to the UK will include Cambridgeshire. I shall follow up on your suggestion too!
Indeed, Choisya. We have rather a lot of it in our garden and it is stunning at this time of the year. You must be a bit behind in Shropshire but not long now.
The flowers for the wedding are actually going to be based on deepest, darkest pink (wine or berry I suppose) combined with the palest of pale pink roses and white hebe and Astrantia. The orange blossom will I hope continue to flourish in the garden and scent the air. There will certainly be photos!!
Yes, and so appropriate. Busy getting the Order of Service sorted and taking some photos of the Church where we are getting married! Lovely to see you.
Choisiya is in full bloom here right now as well -- so fragrant! Was the wedding this past weekend or is it upcoming? If the former, I hope all was wonderful; if the latter, may you have the most wonderful day!
Marianne, thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog. I hope I am not too late to congratulate you on your marriage and wish you every happiness for the future. With love and best wishes, Linda x

Beautiful images, Marianne, of your blossoming orange tree! It is two years later, now, but presently, here on the island, we are blessed to be breathing the heavenly scent of both orange and lemon blossom throughout the village. I can imagine the sweet breeze of these blossoms in your own garden, and what a fresh essence it lent to the wedding.
Oh, they look beautiful and I can just imagine the glorious smell:)
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous Connie and look lovely surrounding an old apple tree in the garden

Orang blossom and white roses - my favourite wedding combination. Will there be one or two photos?
