The North Norfolk Coast

It's been a while since I last posted and looking back through my drafts for inspiration, I found these photos of our trip last May to the North Norfolk coast which we visited following our recent wedding.
It was a short visit, but packed with lovely memories, and I was particularly pleased to find these photos saved in my draft folder as Microsoft has very unkindly managed to lose all my documents and photos when it insisted that I install Windows 10!  Luckily I had saved most of my work to the Cloud, but not all, and these precious memories would have been lost had it not been for my blog.

We stayed at Byfords in the lovely Georgian town of Holt and were thoroughly spoilt!  This pretty bunch of spring flowers came from the Delicatessen in Cley next the Sea

    1. So pleased to find these, having thought they were lost Madelief. The North Norfolk coast is stunning and the skies are amazing. We love the area near Holt, Cley, Wells next the Sea, Brancaster, Burnham Market and Holkham. Should you ever get there I would definitely recommend this corner.

  2. I wonder if I will ever see Norfolk. Ely cathedral rising above the marshes?

    1. I do hope so Diana. Ely Cathedral is another stunning spot in East Anglia and that reminds me to look out my photos of our visit there a few years ago - assuming they too are not lost! Thank you for visiting.

  4. We haven't been to Norfolk for over 20 years, it still looks lovely. I'm so glad you didn't loose these pictures. Our camera broke on honeymoon and we only have about 5 pictures to remind us of this time. Sarah x

    1. Oh, what a pity - photos are so precious. Norfolk is still lovely although they have erected wind turbines in the beautiful bay at Holkham which saddens me. Some places should be spared I think.

  5. We went to N.Norfolk last week and we had wonderful weather. We stay at a cottaqe in Wells and love the area, going at least three times a year. I never tire of it, always something different to discover. I recognize all the places in your photos - especially the flower stand at the Wiveton Café. Have you ever been round the walled garden there - wonderful.

    1. Thank you for reminding me of the name of the cafe. It had eluded me. We left feeling we needed to spend more time up there and will definitely visit again. Thanks for visiting.

  6. Marianne, I can see what you mean about the glorious clouds above the Norfolk coast! How wonderful that these pictures were not lost in the naughty Microsoft transition.

I've been to Norfolks, but never to the actual coast. You've planted a seed. xo

    1. Good! Next time I hope you will manage to visit the coast Frances - the area around Holkham, Brancaster and Blakeney is very special and Burnham Market is such a pretty village too. The skies are stunning.

  7. lovely images and memories. I can relate to the misery of losing the photos as a similar thing happened to me on my old blog when I decided to delete photos from Google+ without realising this meant that I had deleted them from my blog too! Oh, well we live and learn. So nice to see you posting here again as I thought maybe you had lost your blogging mojo!

    1. Technology is a blessing and a curse at times. We seem to have lost as much as we have gained and I spend too much time trying to sort out glitches. Losing photos is miserable, especially as I had spent so much time sorting and editing recently. I shall have to hunt through my blog for more. Blogging comes and goes for me but I already have my next post in mind!

  8. Lovely photos of a pretty place by the sea. A small Georgian town on the Norfolk coast sounds idyllic for a holiday break. Glad you were able to save some photos. Whilst in a state of waiting for my op and further treatment I've been backing up this year's photo files to my external hard drive as I know that soon I won't be able to be on the computer for a while. Thank you for your kind message left on a recent blog post. I've been catching up on your news. Your puppy must be growing and giving much pleasure.

    1. I can recommend it Linda. Backing up is a good way of passing time and I do hope it all goes well for you. Although we have never met, I feel that I know you and would love to hear how you are.

Oskar is a delight although I still think we were slightly crazy to take on another commitment. The dogs give us so much pleasure, but are a big tie and expense too.

  9. I'm having a catch up here - beautiful photos of a gorgeous part of your country. Perhaps some day we'll get that way and I will be checking back on blog posts to remind myself of what I'd like to see and do.
